Frequently Asked Questions
- What is Bible Plan?
- The main goal of Bible Plan is to make it easier to read the Bible. We email your chosen plan's chapters to you daily as a free reminder with links to read online.
- How much does it cost?
- Subscribing to plans is a free service; there are no fees for receiving or viewing plans. Donations are appreciated, but purely optional.
- Why do I have to donate to get the actual verses in my email?
-
BiblePlan.org has been free for over 25 years and we want to keep it that way. We're committed to free Bible reading plans for everyone — the daily emails with reading links will always be free.
The Direct Plan feature (which sends the actual scripture text inline in your email) involves additional infrastructure costs: storing and processing multiple Bible translations, generating personalized verse content for each subscriber, and the bandwidth to send verses to thousands of inboxes daily.
We ask for any donation amount (literally $1 is fine!) to access this premium feature. This helps us cover the extra costs and keep the core service free for everyone. Once you donate, you can toggle the Direct Plan on or off for any of your subscriptions without donating again.
- Your emails go to my Promotions tab — how do I move them?
-
Gmail sorts mail into tabs automatically, and daily emails sometimes land in Promotions instead of your main inbox. Telling Gmail once fixes it for good:
- Gmail on a computer: drag the email from the Promotions tab onto the Primary tab. Gmail will ask whether to do this for future messages — choose Yes.
- Gmail on a phone: open the email, tap the three dots in the top corner, choose “Move to”, then pick Primary.
- Any mail app: add cr@bibleplan.org to your contacts or address book. If a reading ever lands in spam, mark it “Not spam”.
Replying to one of the emails also helps — mail apps learn that messages you answer belong in your main inbox.
- Is my information confidential?
- Yes, your email address is safe with us. We do not sell or share your email address with any third parties.
- How do I unsubscribe?
- Look for the "unsubscribe" link at the bottom of every daily email to manage your subscriptions. Unsubscribing is instant and hassle-free.
- I am receiving the wrong chapters for today's date. How do I change it?
- When you subscribed to the plan there was a "Start Date" field. The default is tomorrow, so your first email is the first reading of the plan. If you would prefer to jump into the plan at a different point, click the "Edit" link at the bottom of your daily email to access the management page and change your start date.
- Can I listen to the readings instead?
-
Yes. If your translation has an audio edition, every daily email includes a “Prefer to listen?” link for each passage. It opens Bible Gateway’s audio player at that chapter — free, and no account is needed.
This works on every reading plan. Whether you see the links depends on your translation, not the plan you follow. Audio is currently available in: ESV, HCSB, KJV, MSG, NASB, NIV, NIVUK, NKJV.
If you read in another translation you will not see these links. We would rather show nothing than send you to the wrong passage. You can change your translation any time from the manage link at the bottom of any email.
- I got an email saying I haven't been reading. What is this?
-
To keep our subscriber list healthy, we send a notice to subscribers who haven't clicked any reading links in a while — starting at 90 days. If no link is clicked within 14 days of the notice, the subscription is automatically removed. Just click any reading link in your daily email to keep it active.
Read the Bible offline and don't usually click links? No problem. Whenever you get one of these notices, just click any reading link (or the "I'm still reading" link in the notice) to stay subscribed. Each time you confirm, we wait longer before checking again — 90 days, then 180, then 270 — so you'll rarely hear from us.
- How can I receive the email at a different time of day?
- Click the "Edit" link at the bottom of each daily email to access the settings for your plans. Change the "Daily Send Time" to the hour you prefer. The time picker uses your browser's detected timezone for accurate local times.
- Who started Bible Plan?
-
BiblePlan was started by Pastor Dean Wall in 2001. Dean was promoted to his heavenly home in November 2013. The passion of his heart was to help people. We carry that same spirit into the ministry today.
"Have you heard the Good News? God loves you more than you love yourself. And He proved it through Jesus Christ. What do you think about that?"
"My mission in life is to walk with God and do His will. There is no greater privilege — no greater goal."
- What does BiblePlan believe?
-
BiblePlan is a Christian ministry. Our statement of faith:
- The Bible is inspired by God and is true and reliable. It is our guide for what we believe and how we live, and its moral teaching does not change with the culture (2 Timothy 3:16–17).
- Everyone has sinned and needs God’s forgiveness (Romans 3:23).
- Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He was born of a virgin, lived without sin, died for our sins, rose from the dead on the third day, and will come again (Matthew 1:18; Hebrews 4:15; 1 Corinthians 15:3–4; John 14:3).
- Salvation is God’s free gift of grace, received through faith in Jesus, not earned by anything we do. Those who belong to Christ are held secure by Him (Ephesians 2:8–9; John 10:27–28).
- Baptism is the immersion of a believer who has confessed faith in Jesus, as in the New Testament. It pictures Christ’s death, burial and resurrection (Acts 8:36–39; Romans 6:1–4).
- Every believer receives the Holy Spirit on coming to faith. The Spirit leads and guides us, and gives each of us gifts to serve others (Ephesians 1:13–14; 1 Corinthians 12).
- The church is the body and the bride of Christ, and exists to carry out His command to make disciples of all nations (Ephesians 5:25–33; Matthew 28:18–20).
